Brown butter cake


1 cup browned butter

Cake:

1/4 cup browned butter
1/4 cup oil
3/4 cup sugar
2 large eggs ROOM TEMPERATURE    
1 t. vanilla
1 1/2 t. baking powder
1 1/4 cups cake flour
2/3 cup buttermilk ROOM TEMPERATURE

Frosting:

1/2 cup browned butter
4 oz. cream cheese ROOM TEMPERATURE
1 t. vanilla
pinch of salt
2 cups confectioners sugar
1 t. milk

Brown 1 cup butter.  Allow to cool completely.

Preheat oven to 325 and grease 9" round cake pan.

Measure 1/4 cup of the browned butter and cream with sugar until light and fluffy.  Add oil, eggs and vanilla.

Mix flour and baking powder.  Add those dry ingredients, alternating with buttermilk in two parts.  Bake for 35 minutes or until light golden brown.

For frosting, mix 1/2 cup of the browned butter with the cream cheese and beat until smooth.  Add vanilla, confectioners sugar and milk.  Frost and enjoy.
